The book is fairly good and presents a lot of inside information, real life experiences and testimonies of important people in the business. It is good if you just want to skim the surface of the music industry, but if you want the complete guide you should see a far better title “Music Business & Entertainment Law Contracts for Indie Recording Artist, Labels, Songwriters, Composers, Producers, Managers and All Others in the Record Industry. Preprinted Binder” By Ty Cohen that will guide you all the way and present you with the optimum solutions

Daylle’s books are a wealth of information for the artist who is serious about their craft and wants to make a living from it. As I’ve stated before she makes daunting tasks seem achievable and her real life experience is absolutely encouraging and inspirational.

I love this book! It’s given me so many great ideas for how to get my music to the next level. I want to make money from it and Daylle wants that for me. What she says makes so much sense, and is practical too! The Real Deal is that I’ll get the best record deal if I get my career going first. I do want the career. Daylle goes into details about how important it is to consider your music a business, because it is if you want to make money from it. And I do!! I got so many great directions to go in with my music. Daylle doesn’t mess around. Every page is packed with tips and resources for making a living from my music. When I have that going, I’ll be in a better position to get a label deal. My copy is already underlined like crazy. Daylle’s inspirational tone is one of the best parts. Thank you Daylle, for caring about us musicians!

I read the first edition, which I loved, but this has so much more info on how to make money from music and continues to be a source of inspiration. I especially appreciated all of the input from A & R people, industry pros, and many musicians who are accomplishing what some of us may have thought impossible. And this is the first book I’ve seen with such good/realistic info on touring Europe. Making money from music is hard but this book makes it possible. Kudos Daylle, for writing such a great resource for musicians!
